타워와 도시를 매개하는 연속된 인터페이스: 수직적 상징에서 수평적 경험으로의 확장
본 프로젝트의 핵심 과제는 개별 디자인의 수정이 아닌, '타워(Vertical)와 ‘저층부’(Horizontal)의 통합된 디자인 언어 구축에 있다. 타워의 웅장함이 대지의 흐름으로 자연스럽게 이어지는 'Seamless Continuity (끊김 없는 연속성)'를 통해, 파편화된 요소들을 하나의 일관된 건축적 어휘로 재정립한다.
주출입구: 상징적 아이덴티티의 전이 (Identity & Visibility)
주출입구는 타워의 첫인상이자 도시와 건축이 접속하는 접점이며, 타워의 디자인 언어를 휴먼 스케일로 번역하는 공간이다. 기존 안의 타워와 분리된 모호한 정체성을 탈피하기 위해, 타워의 수직적 리듬과 입면 모듈을 저층부 캐노피로 확장하는 전략을 취한다. 이는 원거리에서의 타워 인지성을 진입 순간까지 연결하며, 방문객을 맞이하는 강렬한 ‘환영의 제스처(Gesture)’로서 저층부의 가시성을 극대화한다. 캐노피는 단순한 덮개가 아닌, 타워 입면과 동일한 구조적 그리드를 따르는 가늘고 정제된 프로파일로 구성된다. 이를 통해 주출입구는 독립된 장식 요소를 넘어, 타워 디자인의 연장선상에서 인지되는 ‘도시적 포털’로 작용한다.
전면부 조경: 경계를 지우는 통합된 기단 (Unified Landscape)
전면부 조경은 공개공지와 사적 영역이 직접 면해 있음에도 불구하고 마감과 디자인 언어의 차이로 인해 불필요한 시각적 단절이 발생했다. 본 계획은 이를 연속적인 입면 구현을 통해 하나의 통합된 경험으로 재해석한다. 대지는 타워를 지지하는 견고하고 매끄러운 캔버스여야 한다. 영역 간 재료 분리로 인한 단절을 극복하기 위해 마감재의 수를 엄격히 제한하고, 동일한 재료 팔레트 내에서 밀도·텍스처·리듬의 변주만을 허용한다. 공개공지에서 타워 전면으로 이어지는 구획 라인은 대지의 흐름과 보행 동선을 반영하며, 조경·포장·캐노피 하부 천장까지 수평적으로 연속된다. 이는 사적 영역의 건축적 공간을 공공의 영역으로 자연스럽게 환원하는 장치다. 결과적으로 전면부는 기능적으로 상이한 영역을 포용함과 동시에, 건축과 대지가 유기적으로 엮인(Interwoven) 통합된 도시적 파사드를 구현한다.
주차 램프 및 Arrival Sequence: 구조와 흐름의 미학 (Structural Flow)
기존 주차 램프 캐노피는 둔탁한 GFRC 프로파일과 동선과 무관한 평면 형상으로 인해 타워와의 연계성이 부족했다. 본 제안은 이를 Arrival Sequence의 일부로 재정의한다. 캐노피의 평면은 차량 진출입 방향을 명확히 반영하여 기능적 직관성을 높이고, 구조와 입면 요소를 통합한다. 구조가 곧 디자인이 되며, 루버는 구조의 연장선에서 빛과 시선을 조절하는 장치로 작동한다. 이를 통해 주차 램프 캐노피는 단순한 기능적 부속물이 아닌, 주출입구와 맥락을 같이 하는 ‘두 번째 도착의 장면’을 연출한다.
부출입구 및 후면부: 기능과 심미성의 조율 (Functional Harmony)
후면부는 건물의 '뒷면'이 아닌 '기능적 입면'이다. 산재된 설비 요소들은 전면부 및 램프와 동일한 디자인 모티프(패턴, 재료)가 적용된 루버나 스크린 시스템을 통해 전체적인 매스감 속에 녹아들어야 한다. 이를 통해 전면, 램프, 후면의 3가지 영역이 개별적으로 존재하지 않고 관계성을 가진 하나의 완결된 건축물로 귀결된다.
본 제안은 저층부를 단순한 진입 통로가 아닌 '일관된 경험의 공간'으로 재정의하는 과정이다. 주출입구, 주차 램프, 후면부는 각기 다른 기능을 수행하지만, 본 계획은 이를 배제하거나 숨기기보다 질서 있는 배경으로 다룬다. 주출입구는 도시를 향해 열리고, 주차 램프는 흐름을 수용하며, 후면부는 설비 기능을 포함하되 모두 일관된 구조적 언어와 물성의 체계 안에서 통합된다. 설비, 출입구, 보조 동선은 동일한 건축적 텍토닉(Tectonic)과 재료 시스템 안에서 정렬되어, 사용자는 이를 하나의 연속된 도착 시퀀스로 인식하게 된다. 이는 저층부 전반을 관통하는 건축적 원칙인 ‘통합, 연속, 절제’를 가장 명확하게 드러내는 장면이 된다.

A Continuous Interface Mediating Tower and City: Expansion from Vertical Symbol to Horizontal Experience
The core objective of this project is not the revision of individual design elements, but the establishment of an integrated design language between the tower (vertical) and the ground plane (horizontal). Through Seamless Continuity—a condition in which the monumentality of the tower flows naturally into the logic of the ground—the project reorganizes fragmented elements into a single, coherent architectural vocabulary.
Main Entrance: Transfer of Symbolic Identity
The main entrance is both the first impression of the tower and the primary point of contact between the city and the architecture. It is the space where the tower’s formal language is translated into a human scale. Departing from the previous scheme, in which the podium lacked a clear identity due to its disconnection from the tower, this proposal extends the tower’s vertical rhythm and façade modules into the entrance canopy. This strategy carries the tower’s visual recognition from a distance all the way to the moment of arrival, maximizing the visibility of the podium as a powerful welcoming gesture. The canopy is not conceived as a mere cover, but as a refined, slender structure that follows the same structural grid as the tower façade, emphasizing verticality and directionality. As a result, the main entrance operates not as an isolated decorative element, but as an urban portal perceived as a direct extension of the tower’s architectural language.
Front Landscape: A Unified Ground Plane
Although the front landscape directly interfaces with both public and private zones, differences in finishes and design language have previously resulted in unnecessary visual fragmentation. This proposal reinterprets the area as a single, continuous experience through the implementation of a unified façade logic. The ground is conceived as a solid and seamless canvas supporting the tower. To overcome visual discontinuities caused by material segregation, the number of finishing materials is strictly limited, allowing variation only in density, texture, and rhythm within a unified material palette. The zoning lines extending from the public open space to the tower frontage respond to site flows and pedestrian movement, continuing horizontally across landscape, paving, and the underside of the canopy. This strategy naturally translates private architectural space into the public realm. Ultimately, the front landscape accommodates programmatic differences while forming an interwoven, unified urban façade in which architecture and ground operate as a single system.
Parking Ramp & Arrival Sequence: Structural Flow
The existing parking ramp canopy lacked coherence with the tower due to its heavy GFRC profile and a plan geometry unrelated to vehicular movement. This proposal redefines the parking ramp as an integral component of the overall arrival sequence. The canopy plan directly responds to vehicular ingress and egress, enhancing functional clarity, while structural and façade elements are consolidated into a single integrated system. Structure becomes design, and louvers operate as extensions of the structural logic, modulating light and views. Through this approach, the parking ramp canopy transcends its role as a functional appendage and instead stages a second moment of arrival, spatially and conceptually aligned with the main entrance.
Secondary Entrance & Rear Façade: Functional Harmony
The rear façade is not treated as the “back” of the building, but as a functional elevation. Dispersed mechanical and service elements are absorbed into the overall mass through louver and screen systems that apply the same design motifs—patterns and materials—used at the front and along the ramp. In doing so, the front, ramp, and rear are no longer perceived as separate zones, but as interrelated components of a single, cohesive architectural entity.
This proposal redefines the podium not as a mere circulation zone, but as a space of consistent and continuous experience. While the main entrance, parking ramp, and rear zones each perform distinct functions, the design does not conceal or isolate them; instead, it organizes them as a disciplined architectural background. The main entrance opens toward the city, the parking ramp accommodates movement, and the rear incorporates service functions—all unified through a consistent structural language and material system.
Mechanical systems, entrances, and secondary circulation are aligned within the same architectural tectonic and material framework, allowing users to perceive the sequence as a continuous arrival experience. This condition most clearly expresses the architectural principles that govern the entire podium: integration, continuity, and restraint.
